Easy Ways to have fun at your wedding
1) Keep the pre wedding partying to a minimum- The night before your wedding is not the best time to be partying, I know it sounds silly, but the way to have fun on your wedding day is to avoid too much fun the night before. Sometimes people go a little crazy the night before the wedding. Waking up your wedding morning with a hangover is not a good way to start things off.
2) Preparation is Key - It never fails. We tell our couples, never leave anything to last minute, but there is always.... ALWAYS something that get's either forgotten or procrastinated. Now for people who have hired us I don't feel bad for them because we tell them they can drop things on us the night before the wedding if they are desperate. But I do feel the pain for people who don't have people to take that stress off their back and must deal with multiple things they hadn't planned on.
2) Eat healthy in the days leading up. You know what kind of food is going to make you feel good. If you want to look your best, feel great and have tons of energy, this will help. Fasting to fit perfectly into your wedding dress is not recommended.
3) Don't look for errors or focus on what is going wrong - I know its hard for you, you spent all this money and time planning this beautiful event and then it seems like nothing is going the way you wanted. Relax, some things are out of your control and focusing on them is not going to make your day fun. It might be a struggle, but focus on what is going right and your significant other. Hire a coordinator if you think you are going to lose your mind dealing with the little things.
4) Invite kids - Some may completely disagree with me on this one. All of this is my humble opinion. I love kids and feel like they bring an element of fun. They love to dance and have a good time and aren't afraid to do so. There is nothing more fun than the bride and groom out on the dance floor dancing with the kids.
5) Dance!!!! - It might not be your thing, but come on, dancing is fun. If you think everyone is watching and judging you, get used to it, your a bride/groom. Everyone is supposed to watch you, and from my experience when the bride and groom are having a good time and living it up on the dance floor, its contagious!!
6) Keep the speeches to a minimum - OK, as much people say they hate speeches, they tend to talk way longer than they said they are going to. There is nothing wrong with limiting time on how much people can talk at your wedding. It may seem rude, but considering how fast your wedding will go by, anything over 5 minutes for anybody but the bride and groom is going to make your guests squirm. Talk with the speakers prior and telling them what you think is appropriate is a good thing.
7) Don't over drink- Let me state the obvious. This will ruin your day and possibly your wedding night. Take it easy. There are many days to over drink and make a complete ass of yourself. This is not one of them. Its time to be at your best.
8) Shoes- If your feet hurt you will be miserable. My recommendation if your budget allows. 2 pair of shoes, one for pics and one for comfort. And if you plan on going bare foot at some point instead (many brides do), a pedicure may be in order:)
9) Stay Away from Drama!! - If you can, avoid people who live for this. Some people just can't help themselves. They love the drama! If there is one thing you don't want to remember about your wedding, its drama.
